Second (2.5G) & Third Generation (3G) Phone Makers Mostly In China

GS (CHINA)--China Sourcing Reports from Global Sources state nearly a quarter of the world's supply of 2.5G and 3G phones are manufactured in mainland China and Taiwan. Suppliers in the region are forecast to increase production by at least 20%, with more than half of their output earmarked for export. In the chart, China makers are listed with 55%, Taiwan with 33%, Taiwan and China with 4%, and factories outside of China with 8%.
