iPhone In China? No 3G Chips For Apple's iPhone?
PPT (CHINA)--Circa April 2007, Popgadget Personal Tech.com reported that China didn't get the anxiously awaited iPhone first, but they produced cases for phones (resembling an iPhone--see more in the YouTube film below) shown at the Hong Kong Electronics and Components Fair.
NYT (SAN FRANCISCO, CA)--On 29 June 2007, the New York Times reported on the eve of releasing the Apple iPhone's sale, the top executives of Apple and AT&T defended their decision to rely upon AT&T's slow EDGE wireless data network, rather than a faster network that is less widely available. Instead of using the more advanced 3G chip sets as they were thought to be power-hungry, Apple decided to improve the battery life of the iPhone.
