China's Satellite Carrier Dongfanghong IV Set To Acquire More International Satellite Contracts

SINA (BEIJING)--On 9 July 2007, SINA reports a Chinese space expert said China's Dongfanghong IV (DIV) satellite carrier is set to acquire 10 more international contracts after successfully operationally designing and launching a Nigerian satellite in China on 22 May 2007. Zhou Zhicheng, the Chief Designer of the Nigerian satellite states to Xinhua, "China has a totally integrated space technology offer-we can design and manufacture a satellite and take it right through to handover to the customer." China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) designed and manufactured the Nigerian satellite that was launched from Zichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
