Datang Mobile Deploys Mindspeed OptiPHY Interface in Third Generation (3G) Base Station

TGCUK (US)--On 26 June 2007, 3G.co.UK web site reports Mindspeed Technologies, a company headquartered out of Newport Beach, CA, is shipping OptiPHY Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) packet-over-synchronous optical network (SONET) (POS) physical layer (lowest layer called PHY) in its 3G wireless base stations to Datang Mobile. Datang is a leading communications company in China and develops products for 3G networks based on time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA), one of China's telecommunications standards. Mindspeed's customers include Alcatel Data Networks SA, Cisco Systems Inc, Huawei Technologies Co, McData Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Siemens AG and Zhongxing Telecom Equipment Corp.
