China's Ministry Of Information Industry (MII) Puts Out 3G Development Guidelines
CTN (CHINA)--On 15 June 2007, according to ChinaTechNews.com, China released a set of guidelines for the development of 3G technology in the country. The detailed list from the MII includes a total of 130 recommended standards for Code Division Multiple Access2000 (CDMA2000) and Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) development. The MII said the rules were approved last month and were not legal statutes. MII affiliates, the country's major telecom operators and communications management bureaus, received the list of guidelines. This list of 3G development comes just less than a month after the government approved the deployment of European and American 3G mobile phone standards along China's homegrown TD-SCDMA.
