China Grentech will Supply WiFi Equipment For China Mobile’s Olympic WLAN Network

PRD (CHINA)--On 22 June 2007, Press Release Database reports China GrenTech, a radio frequency (RF) developer and provider of wireless coverage products and services to telecommunications operators in China, announced they won the bid to supply coverage equipment and supply framework for China Mobile's Olympic network. China GrenTech will provide customized and newly designed WiFi (Wireless Fidelity-a term for certain types of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) that use specifications conforming to IEEE 802.11b.coverage) equipment for the Olympic WLAN. The equipment will cover different types of protocols including IEEE802.11a, b, and g. GrenTech will also participate in the design and construction of the Olympic WLAN network. The network will cover the Olympic gymnasiums, stadiums and surrounding areas in six Olympic cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
