China Ministry Of Information Industry (MII) Releases Third Generation (3G) Videophone Standard
EETA (CHINA)-- On 18 July 2007, EE Times Asia reports information from ChinaTechNews.com that the MII issued an industry standard for 3G videophone services that involve both Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) and Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA). The China Communications Standard Association drafted the mobile service technical specification YD/T 1511-2007 and the measurement method of YD/T 1512-2007, which provide important data basis for the development, manufacturing, testing, purchasing and operation of mobile TV services. Only mobile terminals have these standards but they are set to be expanded between to Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) in the future.
