China Tietong Awarded International Service License
CTN (CHINA)--On 13 April 2007, China Tech News reports China Tietong, otherwise known as China Railcom and one of the country's smaller state-owned fixed line operators, has been awarded an international communications facilities service license by regulatory body, the Ministry of Information Industry (MII). According to local media reports, the license was awarded to China Tietong to make up for the unequal competition that it has been facing. The operator's main line of business is to provide the public, but more specifically railway companies, with basic telecom services (domestic/international voice, data, image and multimedia communications, and domestic communications resource leasing services) and value-added telecoms services.
