China On Track To Cut Domestic Roaming Fees

CCTV (CHINA)--On 7 June 2007, China Central Television , China´s largest national TV network, reports China's plans to remove domestic roaming fees for its 467 million mobile users is on track. High roaming fees in China have long drawn complaints from consumers. Making a mobile call outside of one's own city could be ten times more expensive than local calls. That's based on a roaming fee of about 0.6 yuan per minute, in addition to the long-distance call charge. Through a survey, China's MII found 60 percent of respondents think the roaming fees have pushed the telecommunication fees too high and are unjustified.
